Tremosine is a comune in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy, near Lake Garda. It's divided into 18 little frazioni; Pieve is the frazione where there's the town hall, Vesio the biggest one. Campione is a frazione famous for aquatic sport, like kitesurfing, and the only one straight on Lake's riverside.

History

The first human settlement dates back to Neolithic; rich vegetation and water abundance encouraged migrations of inhabitants from south of Lake Garda. There aren't information about period from 3000 BC to Roman period. During Roman period rich Roman people owns villas in Tremosine.

The "Veneto" period was fairly prosperous for regions of Garda Lake; main activities in tremosine were agriculture (olive trees, grape-vine and fruit) and farming (goats, cows, donkeys). There were also little iron industries and a manganese cave in Sermerio. In San Michele and Val di Brasa there were metallurgic hub: in fact here it was possible to utilize hydraulic energy.
